Experienced Billing and Receivables Expert

InjurySync is seeking an experienced Billing and Receivables expert. Graduates and data entry clerks need not apply. If you are not organized, detail oriented, or dependable please do not waste your time or ours. Pre-employment testing as well as employment and background checks will be conducted.


Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Follow up on all claims from billing through final resolution
  • Prepare/submit medical claims electronically (and when applicable by paper) to governmental, private pay and commercial insurance carriers
  • Identify and resolve any claim delay issues that impact billing and collections
  • Resolve credit balances and account issues
  • Post denials/co-pays and deductibles
  • Follow up on payment errors, low reimbursement, denials
  • Accurately interpret EOB and collections report
  • Initiate and track appeals as necessary
  • Post cash and reconcile daily receipts
  • Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility
  • Determine claim status based upon aging report
  • Strong ability to reconcile account ledger

Minimum Knowledge, Competencies and Qualifications:


  • Minimum of two years of medical billing experience preferably with mail order diabetic testing supplies in a physician‘s office, hospital, DME company or other clinical setting
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
  • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid/Third Party payers is required
  • Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS and Medical Terminology
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Medicare and/or DME experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be responsive and act with a sense of urgency
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, detail-orientation, self-motivation and have a strong work ethic
  • Strong problem solver
  • Enjoy working independently
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Ability to type proficiently (35+ wpm)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Spanish speaking a plus but not required
